Broadcast 15/17 Overview
The Broadcast 15/17 utilizes a 15"/17" color SVGA
LCD display for large, bright images that can be read from up to 20 feet away. The high quality LCD can also be used as an extra desktop display when you're not using it for teleprompting. It is designed for full size BetaSP, Digital Beta, HDV, DVCAM or film cameras.
Its flexible design also allows it to be used with the popular single and 3 chip minidv and HD cameras with the optional riser block ($40). The mirror frame slides quickly onto the mount and the LCD display attaches
to the teleprompter mount with a single thumbscrew
for fast setup and breakdown. Our standard glass beamsplitter is our exclusive Ultra-Clear low-impurity glass developed for HD shooting. The optional patent pending acrylic mirror assembly is unbreakable.
Not sure if you need the Broadcast 15/17 or Universal 15/17? You can purchase a kit that will convert the Broadcast 15/17 to our stand mounted Universal 15/17 for just $295.
The unit comes with our FREE PC and Mac teleprompter software that accepts text files from any PC program
such as Microsoft Word. The included teleprompter software displays smoothly scrolling text and also
allows you to: set cue points to quickly access points
in your script, change font type and size, change from black on white to white on black display and highlight specific lines or paragraphs of text. Our Mac and Pro software allow for full color and easy editing.
Scrolling can be controlled by the mouse or the optional wireless controller. The wireless controller allows you to control scrolling speeds up to 50 feet away without wires to trip over. With the wireless controller the on-camera talent can either practise reading without the need for an operator or can control their own scroll speed on tighter shots.
The Broadcast 15/17 can be ganged with other teleprompters with our optional distribution amplifier.
This allows up to four separate units to be operated in tandem with one computer for multiple camera studio setups. The distribution amplifier also boosts the VGA signal so that the displays can be used up to 200 feet from the computer.

The Wireless Remote is our most popular option. A receiver plugs into the USB port on your computer. The intuitive wireless handheld unit controls scroll speed, scroll direction, stop/start and cue points within a 50 foot range. The talent can use it to practice, or when taping on tighter shots. PC or Intel Mac compatible only. REM-KEY
Our solid aluminum wired controller gives precise rotary control over scroll speed and stop/start. It connects to your computer's USB port. A wired controller is preferred by dedicated prompter operators. Mac or PC compatible. REM-GRF
This heavy duty weighted pedal allows talent to control speed and start/stop the text scroll. The USB interfaced device uses no external electricity so there are no power cords or adapters needed. A sensitivity slider within Flip-Q allows precise control. PC compatible only. REM-FOOT

The Broadcast 15/17 is designed to be used with full sized Broadcast cameras in it's base configuration. Smaller cameras require a riser block to raise the camera up to the right height within the mirror frame. The popular MiniDV 1 and 3 chip cameras require the 3" riser block. Midsize cameras like the JVC 500/5000, Sony 370/390 cameras require the 1.5" riser block. When ordering specify the camera for the correct riser if necessary.

There are two uses for this device. It can
be used to split the signal between two to four teleprompters from a single PC, or as
a signal amplifier if you need to run 35 feet to 200 feet of VGA cable. It has four amplified outputs from one input. Don't forget the extra cable when ordering! DA-VGA
Teleprompter systems with a 15 or 17” monitor come with a 5-foot VGA cable.
DV9, DV11 and CNV10 prompters come with an 8-foot VGA cable that plugs into
your laptop. If you would like to keep the computer out of the immediate prompting environment, you will need a VGA extension. Our 25-foot HD extension cable is $40. The 50-foot HD extension cable is $70 and must be used with a Distribution Amp (see next item). C-VGA25 / C-VGA50
The included Flip-Q LIte software that comes free with the system reverses the VGA output. The VGA Reverser can be used when you need to display non scrolling text such as PowerPoint slides. The VGA reverser box electronically reverses the entire desktop so that it is readable on the teleprompter mirror. Some specialized applications require hardware reversal of the text. When a reversing monitor isn’t available, this is the answer. VGA-RE
